I think about that a lot, how certain tricks in Flash 8 will never see the light of day, or will never really be explored outside of a small niche community, hell I remember that one time I found out you can kinda paint with the pencil tool if you mess with its settings enough.

I too come from a time when people had to wait a few minutes to load a flash game, and that's all I used the internet for, feels kinda alien to think that everyone that grew up just a few years later didn't experience that, and saw the internet and computers as this polished rounded out thing... I feel very ill-equipped for this new age of internet where loudness and pride in not putting effort into something seems to be the norm.
